Councillor Jan Gillett has lived in Spruce Grove for over 30 years and is entering her second term on Spruce Grove City Council after first being elected in 2021. With more than 10 years of experience in retail, Councillor Gillett has worked across several industries before moving into the non-profit sector.

She has served on several Council committees, including the Inter-City Forum for Social Policy, the Family Community & Social Services of Alberta Association, and the City Centre Business Association. Councillor Gillett is an active volunteer in the Tri-Region, supporting the Spruce Grove Rotary Club, and she created the Late Night Café, a program that was later adopted by the City’s Winter Emergency Response Committee, on which she served on for many years.

Councillor Gillett enjoys travel, experiencing new cultures, and tasting local wines with her husband Randal. She also enjoys cooking with her three daughters and four grandchildren.

Favourite Spruce Grove amenity: Central Park. Whether attending events like Light Up in the winter or taking her grandchildren to the splash pad in the summer, Central Park is perfect for festivities and family time all year long.
