Fire Pit Permits
Effective May 29, 2023, the City of Spruce Grove has moved from a fire ban to a fire restriction.
Opening burning is not allowed and no new commercial open burn permits will be issued until conditions improve. Backyard fires are allowed only in approved fire pits by residents who have been issued a City of Spruce Grove fire pit permit. CSA approved natural gas, propane and solid fuel appliances designed for cooking or heating, such as barbecues, heaters and fire pits are allowed.
Spruce Grove Fire Services reminds residents to be cautious when using smoking materials and to dispose of cigarette butts only in appropriate metal containers. Never throw cigarette butts out the window of a vehicle or building, and do not extinguish them in flowerpots or planters.
Emergency locator posts are located throughout the Heritage Grove Park trail system. To report fire, smoke, or any other emergency within the park, dial 911 and tell the operator the number of the nearest emergency locator post.
