Dog licensing and identification

The City of Spruce Grove no longer requires licensing for dogs, however all dogs over the age of six (6) months are required to have a tag containing legible and operational phone number of the owner, or where the owner may be contacted. The tag must be worn at all times by the dog when the dog is off the property of the owner. Failure for a dog owner to have a tag with adequate contact information could result in prosecution for a bylaw violation.

Lost or found animals

The Parkland Animal Shelter contains a gallery of found and adoptable animals. All animals that enter the shelter can be viewed online. Pictures are normally posted within one hour of the animal entering the shelter but that time can vary depending on when it is brought in (i.e. weekends/holidays). After three days the information is updated to indicate that the animal is now adoptable.
