Councillor Erin Stevenson
Councillor Erin Stevenson has a strong love for Spruce Grove, which she incorporated into the theme of her 2025 re-election campaign to successfully secure a third term on Spruce Grove City Council.
Her involvement with Council committees includes serving on the Youth Advisory Committee, the TransAlta Tri Leisure Board, the Capital Region Parkland Water Services Commission, and the City Centre Business Association. Councillor Stevenson is also on the Alberta Municipalities Board of Directors and is Vice President for Cities up to 500,000.
In addition to her role on Council, she has been the Manager of Marketing for Athabasca University since 2013. Councillor Stevenson’s dedication to her education and work has earned her various awards including Marketer of the Year and Student of the Year from MacEwan University.
Recently, Councillor Stevenson has become a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Spruce Grove Branch 281. She’s also volunteered in various local community events for the Spruce Grove & District Agricultural Society and Spruce Grove Rotary Club, such as Ribfest, and helped support provincial events including the Alberta Winter Games in Grande Prairie.
An avid gardener, Councillor Stevenson has more than 300 unique plants and trees growing in her home and backyard. When she’s not walking her four dogs, she enjoys tracing family ancestry and helping raise her nephew (who she calls an “absolute delight!”).
She’s also a seasoned traveller, having visited 35 countries including multi-day hikes like the Everest Base Camp trek, which she completed in 2011.
Favourite Spruce Grove amenity: Jubilee Park. It’s a great place for events and gatherings throughout the year and excellent for a quick walk with the dogs.
Fun fact: Councillor Stevenson is an autologous skin donor, which is someone who donates to themselves (like a skin graft).
