Councillor Brad Mastaler
While this is Councillor Brad Mastaler’s first term on Spruce Grove City Council, he has been deeply involved in the community as a member of the Spruce Grove Library Board from 2011-2017, including time as Chair of the Finance Committee, the Policy Committee, and Board Chair.
Councillor Mastaler is also a long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Spruce Grove, currently serving as Treasurer for the club and Secretary of the Rotary Club of Spruce Grove Community Partners Society. He has previously served on the board of the Spruce Grove Skate Park Society and coaches junior curling at the Spruce Grove Curling Centre.
His professional career started at the age of 15 in junior high school when he founded a software company that develops cloud-based business systems for a variety of industries, which has kept him busy since graduation.
Family is important to Councillor Mastaler as he lives in a multi-generational home with his wife and high school sweetheart Krista and their three children, along with his mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and their labradoodle Billy.
Outside of work, Council Mastaler likes to dive deep into geopolitical, philosophy, and economic books, play guitar, or explore new trails while geocaching.
Favourite Spruce Grove amenity: The Spruce Grove Public Library is near and dear to his heart as it enriches the lives of the young and old and supports a better understanding of the world.
Fun fact: Councillor Mastaler holds a private pilot’s license.
