Leaders in Training

Looking for ways to gain valuable work experience? Volunteer as a Leader in Training to meet friends and challenge your leadership skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere. As a volunteer, you will be partnered with Summer in the City leaders to run various summer programs, such as Adventure Camps and Pop-Up Playground.

Volunteer placements are available throughout July and August and hours will range from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Leaders in Training must be available for training sessions. Participants who complete 35 hours of volunteering will receive a certificate of completion and reference letter. Year-round volunteer opportunities are also available.

Application checklist

• You must be 13 years of age or older and have completed Grade 7.
• A criminal record check is required. Applicants can collect a letter of request from Recreation Services office, 2nd floor, Border Paving Athletic Centre, to receive a free criminal record check from the RCMP.
