Growing Strong: Get to know Spruce Grove’s Strategic Plan 2026-2029
This past June, Spruce Grove City Council approved their 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, which identifies the priorities that will guide the City’s work over the course of the current Council term.
Work to implement the plan is well underway, and we want to make sure residents have an opportunity to get to know the plan, its priorities, and why it’s important. To support that, we're launching a short video explainer and an accompanying quick-reference summary you can download, print or share.
The Strategic Plan is deeply rooted in what Council heard from residents and businesses leading up to the 2025 municipal election, and through continued conversations with the community. It includes infrastructure that keeps pace with growth, community safety, vibrant parks and trails, economic opportunity, and maintaining the quality of life that makes Spruce Grove a great place to call home.
The Strategic Plan defines Council’s top priorities and provides direction for City Administration's day-to-day work and longer-term planning. Informed by community input, the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan is built on four priority themes:
- Building Community
- Communications Excellence
- Economic Opportunity
- Strategic Partnerships
Each theme is brought to life in the community through specific goals and actions carried out by Administration and every goal and action has its own target completion timeline. As progress is made towards these goals, updates will be shared with residents.
A living document, the Strategic Plan will be reviewed and updated each year to ensure its goals remain relevant and reflect the evolving needs of the community.
Whether you've lived in Spruce Grove your whole life or have recently chosen to make it your home, this plan was created for you. We look forward to sharing the journey ahead as we branch out and continue growing strong together.
