Tenant Parking
When renting any legal secondary suite, garage suite, or garden suite in Spruce Grove, landlords must provide tenants with at least one designated parking stall as part of the City’s Land Use Bylaw. Assigned parking helps ensure tenants have a safe place to park and allows the City to access roads for seasonal operational services such as snow removal and street sweeping.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Landlords must provide at least one designated parking stall for every legal secondary suite, garage suite, or garden suite in line with the City’s Land Use Bylaw.
A designated parking stall is a space set aside specifically for parking, located on the property, and assigned for use by the tenant.
If you are unsure where your stall is located, contact your landlord first. They are responsible for assigning and informing tenants of their designated parking area.
If your landlord is renting out a parking space or not providing one at all, that goes against the City’s Land Use Bylaw. If you're being denied access to your designated parking space, contact Enforcement Services for support.
