City wins Silver Circle for SGTV: State of the City Report
The City of Spruce Grove has won a Silver Circle Award from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association’s Savvy Awards for the City’s SGTV News: State of the City Report video.
In the video, Spruce Grove Mayor (and news anchor!) Jeff Acker and his six intrepid reporters (or is that Council members?) shared highlights from 2023, as well as a look ahead to what was being planned for the community in 2024. With guest appearances, weather forecasts, on-location reporting from the forest, an entertainment beat, an “eye in the sky” chopper and an accidental trip to New York City, it’s a fun-filled adventure for everyone!
The concept development, script writing and creative direction for the video were done in-house by the City of Spruce Grove’s Corporate Communications team. The City outsourced the videography, digital design and production to a local creative agency.
The Savvy Awards recognize local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships. There are three levels of recognition: Savvy, Silver Circle and Award of Excellence. This year, the awards program had 1,114 entries in 38 different categories from across the United States and Canada.
This is the fifth time the City of Spruce Grove has been a finalist in the Savvy Awards program. Past awards include a Savvy for the CityPulse magazine (2017), a Savvy for the Canada Day website (2018), an Award of Excellence for the Census Campaign (2018) and an Award of Excellence for the State of the City video (2019).
