Cemetery

Pioneer Cemetery is a non-denominational burial ground owned and operated by the City of Spruce Grove.

Family, friends and visitors are welcome. The cemetery is open for visitation 7 days a week. It is located south of the intersection at Highway 16A (Parkland Highway) and Range Road 271 just before leaving the east side of Spruce Grove.

History

Dating back to the 1800’s, the Pioneer Cemetery served as a burial ground to the pioneers of the communities of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County.

Scattering garden

The cemetery offers a community scattering garden, a peaceful and natural setting where loved one’s ashes can be scattered in a meaningful place. The garden is centrally located within the cemetery and includes a walkway and landscaping. In the future, a memorial plaque wall will be installed to honour those who rest in this area of the cemetery.
