Upcoming aeriation system installation in Hawthorne stormwater management facility

Starting Monday, May 18, an aeration system will be installed in the stormwater management facility (SWMF) located in the Hawthorne neighbourhood.

The new system consists of eight diffusers that will release air bubbles from the bottom of the SWMF, which will help increase oxygen levels, improve overall water quality, and reduce odours.

To support this installation, there will be temporary pathway and alley closures in the area to accommodate the installation (the alley will be open for waste collection on May 21). Please watch for signage and use detours as necessary.
