Spruce Grove celebrates first-ever Citizenship Ceremony
Today the City of Spruce Grove proudly welcomed 69 new Canadians during its first-ever Citizenship Ceremony, held at Heavy Metal Place’s Black Box Theatre.
Family members, friends, community leaders and special guests gathered to witness these individuals from such diverse origins as Argentina, Cameroon, India, Jamaica, Nigeria, Philippines, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam take the Oath of Citizenship and mark an important milestone in their journey as Canadians.
The ceremony also marked a historic first for Spruce Grove, and reflects the City's commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community.
Mayor Jeff Acker offered his congratulations to the new citizens, recognizing both their achievement and the important role they play in shaping our growing city.
“On behalf of City Council and the entire community, congratulations to our newest Canadian citizens,” said Mayor Acker. “Being in this room, you can feel the significance of what has been accomplished. Every person here has their own story. Different paths, different experiences, different reasons for coming to Canada, but today those journeys come together at this remarkable milestone… [W]e’re honoured you’ve chosen to build your futures here, proud to welcome you, and grateful for the experiences, perspectives and contributions you bring to our community.”
The City extends its congratulations to all those who became Canadian citizens and thanks everyone who helped make this special occasion possible.
