Good news – more items can now go in your blue bag!

Alberta has expanded the list of accepted recycling materials, giving us more ways to keep waste out of landfills.

After emptying and giving these a quick rinse, you can now recycle:

• Glass containers of all colours and sizes (remove lids and caps).
• Foam packaging including takeout containers, cups, and plates (remove film wrap and absorbent pads from meat trays).
• Flexible plastics like potato chip bags, bread bags, pet food bags, snack wrappers, bubble wrap, cereal liner bags and plastic gift bags.
• Paper laminates and liquid containers such as disposable single-use coffee cups, spiral cans, and ice cream containers.
• Empty aerosol containers like shaving cream or hairspray cans (lids and caps on).

Not sure where something belongs? Download the Trim Your Trash app to easily access waste-sorting information and subscribe to waste collection reminders through text, email or phone calls at sprucegrove.org/Sort.

And remember, starting October 19 all blue bag recycling collection is moving to MONDAYS!
