Construction in the City Centre area expected to start June 1

Work is expected to begin next week on the first phase of a construction project to improve underground infrastructure along King Street.

This work, which is part of the City Centre Area Redevelopment Plan, will be completed in three phases:

Phase 1 – Watermain replacement from Agrena Road to Church Road (anticipated start date is June 1)

Phase 2 – Watermain replacement from Church Road to First Avenue (anticipated start date is July 1)

Phase 3 – Sanitary Main replacement from Brookside Avenue to Wellington Crescent (timing is TBD)

Traffic disruption is expected during construction, including lane closures and full road closures. Detours will be in place and access to local businesses will be maintained as best as possible.

This construction project is expected to be completed by the end of September and updates will be provided throughout the summer.
