City leadership recognized with Alberta Municipalities' Dedicated Senior Team Award
The City of Spruce Grove is celebrating provincial recognition after receiving the 2026 Alberta Municipalities Dedicated Senior Team Award, an honour that recognizes municipalities whose senior leaders exemplify excellence in organizational leadership, strategic collaboration and delivering meaningful outcomes for their communities.
City leadership were formally acknowledged at a special Alberta Municipalities dinner on September 22, where municipal leaders from across the province gathered to celebrate excellence in local government.
Mayor Jeff Acker said the award reflects the City's commitment to delivering results for residents while fostering a strong culture of teamwork and innovation.
"I am incredibly proud of our senior leadership team and grateful for everything they do for our organization and community," said Mayor Acker. "Our senior leaders inspire those around them through their dedication, collaboration and commitment to doing what's right for residents. This award recognizes not only their professional excellence, but also the positive and lasting impact they have on their teams, our organization and the Spruce Grove community."
Councillor Erin Stevenson, who spearheaded the nomination of the City's senior leadership team, connected with more than 70 staff members as part of the process, receiving scores of personal testimonials in support.
“I've experienced firsthand the passion and care our senior leadership team brings to their work every day," said Councillor Stevenson. “While Council recognizes their contributions, what stood out most was the enthusiasm of staff to support the nomination. That really speaks to why they deserve this award.
They don't just lead projects and departments; they lead with heart and a genuine commitment to the people who call Spruce Grove home. I think it’s just wonderful to see that dedication recognized."
