Volunteers

Be a part of Spruce Grove’s Canada Day Celebration as a volunteer! There are volunteer opportunities for both non-profit groups and individuals  .

If you are a non-profit group, you have the opportunity to earn a group honorarium   for your volunteer work while providing a service to the community. To be eligible, you must register with the City’s Community Service Partnership (CSP) Program.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Site maintenance

Volunteers in this section will maintain the cleanliness of the event site and assist with site set up and or/tear down. These roles are ideal for walking enthusiasts and provide a great opportunity for friends looking to volunteer together. Some lifting is required.

KidZone and AdventureZone

These active areas for young event visitors are equipped with giant inflatables, games of tag, crafts and activities. Volunteers assist with wristbands, line control and maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Host teams

Volunteers at the Information Tents are ambassadors for the celebration. Information Tents are placed in strategic locations where visitors can come and ask questions and pick up a brochure or a souvenir.

Volunteers in the Volunteer Tent will greet volunteers and assist with general questions and volunteer sign-in and sign-out.

Bus greeters welcome arriving guests and provide directions as required.

Transportation

Did you know we have people movers for visitors with small children, seniors and those with mobility difficulties? Two volunteers per shift are required to operate a motorized vehicle to transport individuals with specific needs.

On-site traffic control is necessary to ensure the safety of the visitors at Jubilee Park. Volunteers are required to monitor the entry gate and safely accompany any vehicles that are permitted to enter.

An exit crew will monitor guest line ups, assist guests to find the correct bus stop and ensure a safe exit of the visitors at the end of the evening.

Volunteers are also required to assist guests with dropping off and picking up their bikes at the secure bike lock up zone.
