Third Party Advertisers
A Third Party Advertiser is an individual, corporation or group who promotes or opposes a candidate through election advertising during the election advertising period (May 1 to October 20, 2025). Third party advertisers must register with the City of Spruce Grove if they have incurred (or plan to incur) expenses of at least $1,000 for election advertising or have accepted (or plan to accept) advertising contributions of at least $1,000.
Third Party Advertisers must follow the rules in Part 8 of the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA) and review Third Party Advertising Guidelines for Local Elections in Alberta developed by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs. These guidelines are designed to provide clarity to third party advertisers on the requirements of identification in election advertising during local elections in the province of Alberta.
In addition, the City of Spruce Grove Election Sign Bylaw applies to Third Party Advertisers. Click here for further information on election sign requirements.
