Election Signs
Private Property
- Election signs with a maximum of height 1m (3.28 ft) from the ground to the top of the sign may be erected starting at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 (60 days prior to Election Day)
- Elections signs may be erected:
- on private fences and private building external walls up to a maximum height of 2.43 m (8 ft) measuring the entire Election Sign structure; and
- on or in the ground in Non-Residential Areas up to a maximum height of 2.43 m (8 ft) from the ground to the top of the Election Sign. Non-Residential Area is an area within the City of Spruce Grove not zoned as residential as set in the City’s Land Use Bylaw.

Public Property
- Election signs may be erected on starting at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025 (Nomination Day).
Removal of Election Signs
- All election signs must be removed by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Election Sign Bylaw and Election Sign Guide

As part of the nomination process, candidates will be asked to sign an Election Sign Acknowledgement Form acknowledging:
- they received a copy of the Election Sign Bylaw;
- they have read, understand and agree to comply with the election sign requirements as outlined in the Election Sign Bylaw; and
- that a violation of the Election Sign Bylaw may result in removal of their election signs and a fine.

Campaigning
Voting stations
Campaigning is not allowed inside a voting station or on the property around the station during the Advance Vote and Election Day. Displaying or distributing campaign materials such as buttons, signs, cars with banners and t-shirts inside or around voting stations is not permitted.
The Presiding Deputy Returning Officer will remove all non-compliant campaign materials which contravenes the Local Authorities Election Act and ask a person to leave the voting station.

City administration is responsible to ensure the democratic process is fair, transparent and accessible. The City’s Policy on the Use of Municipal Resources for Election Campaign sets out guidelines on the appropriate use of City resources during an election period.
