Registering in advance for the City of Spruce Grove Permanent Electors Register will ensure your voting experience is as smooth as possible.
Voters need to register on Voterlink through Elections Alberta to be included in the City of Spruce Groves’s Permanent Electors Register. Non-registered voters will be required to complete registration at a voting station prior to receiving a ballot which will take additional time.

Starting with the 2025 Municipal Election, the provincial government requires that all voters are registered on a Permanent Electors Register.

If you have previously voted in past elections, you may already be on the register. To confirm your registered information is up-to-date, please visit voterlink.ab.ca
Non-registered voters will be required to complete registration at a voting station prior to receiving a ballot. Please note that the registration process will take time, we encourage you to register to avoid delays.

If you are not listed on the Permanent Electors Register while at a voting station, you will still be able to show identification and complete voter registration in the presence of an Election Official at a voting station to vote.
During Advance Voting and on Election Day, you may vote at any voting station that is most convenient for you.

Special Ballots:
- Special Ballots
An eligible voter must submit a request to the Returning Officer for a special ballot. Requests for special ballots can only be submitted from August 1 to 4:00PM on October 17 and can be made in writing, by telephone, in person or by email.
A Special Ballot is available for eligible voters who are registered and listed on the Permanent Electors Register and unable to vote during advance voting or on Election Day.
Requests for Special Ballots can only be submitted from Friday, August 1 to 4:00 p.m. on October 17. Eligible voters must submit a request to the Returning Officer for a special ballot
Another voter can vouch for an individual to confirm their address if:
- The voter who is vouching is a registered voter and listed on the Permanent Electors Register.
The voter vouching may vouch for more than one person if every person they vouch for shares the same current address.
Note: A scrutineer shall not vouch for any person.
If you come to a voting station and do not have valid ID, you can have another voter vouch for you to validate your address. The individual requesting a voucher must:
- Show valid identification.
- Be accompanied by another voter who can validate their current address.
- Submit a statement by filling out a form provided by the Election Officer at a Voting Station.
If you are only living in Spruce Grove temporarily (example: just for the school year) and you normally live in another community, you should plan to return home to vote or contact your home municipality for your voting options in your place of permanent residence.
