Building permits, development permits and inspections during COVID-19
To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the City’s Planning and Development, and Engineering offices are temporarily closed to walk-ins; however staff are accessible by phone or email to assist residents, business owners and builders with permits, inspections and more.
Starting a home improvement project?
Home improvement projects that often require a building permit and/or development permit include building a deck, shed, pergola, gazebo, garage or retaining wall, as well as renovations inside your home/basement.
Before you start on a project this summer, please first contact the City by phone (780-962-7582) or email to determine if you require any permits and to access the information/resources you’ll need. This will help make sure your project meets the City’s Land Use Bylaw and Alberta’s Safety Codes Act.
