Starting Sept. 3, the fluoridation of water that is distributed to Spruce Grove will be temporarily interrupted while Epcor upgrades its E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant in Edmonton.
The E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant is located along the North Saskatchewan River and provides water to much of Edmonton and several communities in the region, including Spruce Grove.
The interruption of fluoridation is expected to last approximately seven months. During this time, tap water will remain safe to drink and residents can anticipate no change in taste or colour. The only difference will be the absence of fluoride.
