Council approves funds to enhance community safety

June 29, 2018

At the June 25 City Council meeting, Spruce Grove City Council approved an initiative to enhance community policing in the City of Spruce Grove.

The initiative, which will cost $100,000, supports the partnership and shared priority of community safety between City administration, City Council and the Spruce Grove/Stony Plain RCMP.

“Ensuring our community is a safe place for our residents to live and enjoy is important for us all,” says Spruce Grove Mayor Stuart Houston. “We’ve directed these additional resources to the RCMP as our partners in community policing and to help keep our neighbourhoods safe and welcoming.”

The funds will be used to implement a variety of safety tactics, as determined by the RCMP.
