City will follow Government of Alberta’s direction in lifting public health measures, effective March 1

February 28, 2022

The Government of Alberta has confirmed it will move to step two of its three-step approach to phase out public health measures starting March 1, and the City will be following the Province’s direction.

Under step two, the provincial mask mandate will be lifted in most settings effective March 1. This will include City facilities. Masking will continue to be required when using public transit, including Spruce Grove Transit, and at other high-risk settings including at Alberta Health Services-operated and contracted facilities, and all continuing care settings.

The mandatory work-from-home requirements will also be lifted, and the City will begin bringing all staff back on site this week starting March 1.

Further details on step two are available online. The timing for step three is to be determined based on hospitalization rates continuing to trend downwards.
