Outstanding Achievement Presentation

Council presented several members of the Spruce Grove Aerials Gymnastics Club with Certificate of Achievements for their various successes at the Alberta Provincial Championships held April 12 - 14, 2019, the Western Canada Championships held April 25 - 27, 2019 and at the Alberta Gymnastics Compulsory Championships held May 1 - 3, 2019.

Community Commitment Presentation

Council presented Spruce Grove resident Olive Upton with a Certificate of Recognition for community commitment.

Spruce Grove City Centre Business Association - Annual Report
  • The City Centre Business Association presented Council with the 2019 Annual Report and 2018 Audited Financial Statements.
  • Council approved the City Centre Business Association 2020 budget.
  • Ron Haines and Ms. Sharon Yeast were appointed as directors of the Spruce Grove City Centre Business Association for the term beginning January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2021.
Bylaw C-1072-19 – Parental Leave for Councillors – Third Reading

Council gave third reading to Bylaw C-1072-19, which outlines the provisions for the proposed parental leave bylaw.

Bylaw C-1092-19 – Traffic Bylaw Amendment – First and Second Reading

Council gave first and second reading to Bylaw C-1092-19, an amendment to the Traffic Bylaw C-911-15 proposing to provide increased clarity of sections of the Bylaw that describe homeowner responsibilities for landscape developments and landscape maintenance within roadway rights-of-ways and alleys. The bylaw will return to Council for a third reading at a later date.

Rescission of Corporate Policy 9,044 - Gifts and Gratuities 

Council rescinded Corporate Policy 9,044 – Gifts and Gratuities due to the recent approval of an administrative policy on employee code of conduct and a bylaw regarding councillor code of conduct. Both the administrative policy and bylaw include provisions regarding the receipt and acceptance of gifts and gratuities.
