Council approved the Feb. 25, 2019 Regular Council meeting minutes.

Bylaw C-1060-18 – Land Use Bylaw Text Amendment – Public Hearing, Second and Third Reading

A second public hearing was held for Bylaw C-1060-18, an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw proposing to reduce the minimum lot width for single detached dwellings with lane access from 9.0 to 8.5 metres. Later in the meeting, Council gave second and third reading to the bylaw, approving the amendment.

Bylaw C-1057-18 – Land Use Bylaw Annual Review Amendments – Public Hearing, Second and Third Reading

A public hearing was held for Bylaw C-1057-18, an annual update to the Land Use Bylaw. The update is meant to provide clarity to existing definitions and regulations, and correct errors and omissions. It also proposes to redistrict a portion of land, located along King Street across from Agrena Road, to facility a community garden.

Later in the meeting, Council gave second and third reading to the bylaw, approving the updates.

Kinsmen Club of Stony Plain Public Delegation

Ed Berney and Gord Morrison, representing the Kinsmen Club of Stony Plain and the Stony Plain Legion, presented Council with information about the RCMP Musical Ride tour scheduled to visit the area in September 2019.

Administrative Updates

City Manager Robert Cotterill presented Council with his official notice of resignation, effective May 3, 2019.

Bylaw C-1068-19 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment – Greenbury Stage 11 – First Reading

Council gave first reading to Bylaw C-1068-19, an amendment proposing to redistrict 2.13 hectares of land within the Pioneer Lands Area Structure Plan from Urban Reserve District (UR) to Greenbury Planned Lot District (GPL) and Parks and Recreation District (P1). A public hearing will be held for Bylaw C-1068-19 at a later date.

Bylaw C-1067-19 – 2019 Supplementary Assessment Bylaw – First, Second and Third Reading

Council gave first, second and third reading to Bylaw C-1067-18, authorizing supplementary assessments of new improvements for the purpose of taxation in 2019.

Councillor Request for Authorized Leave

As a candidate in the upcoming provincial general election, Councillor Turton requested a leave of absence from Council meetings and all other Council related duties during the upcoming provincial election. Council approved this request.
