Council approved the June 25, 2018, Regular Council meeting minutes.

Certificate of Recognition – Spruce Grove Specialized Transit Service Board Members

Robert Da Roza and Sid Davis were recognized by Council for their contributions to the community through their years of service on the Spruce Grove Specialized Transit Service Board. Da Roza and Davis each received a Certificate of Recognition, which is awarded through the City’s Outstanding Achievement Recognition Program.

Bylaw C-1039-18 - Land Use Bylaw Amendment - Greenbury Stage 10 – First Reading

Council gave first reading to Bylaw C-1039-18, which will redistrict 2.3 hectares of land within the Pioneer Lands Area Structure Plan from UR – Urban Reserve District to R1 – Mixed Low to Medium Density Residential District and P1 – Parks and Recreation District.

Bylaw C-1043-18 - Council Code of Conduct Bylaw – Third Reading

Council gave third reading to Bylaw C-1043-18, which establishes a code of conduct for elected officials.

Waste Management Program Service Level Changes

Council passed a motion for City Administration to implement a public engagement initiative to explore proposed service level changes to the City’s waste management program.

Edmonton Metropolitan Region Transit Commission Memorandum of Understanding

Council passed a motion for the City to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Edmonton and the City of St. Albert to participate in the Phase 2 discussions on the development of an Edmonton Metropolitan Region Transit Commission.

Spruce Grove Specialized Transit Service Management Board of Directors – Board Member Appointments

The following positions from City Administration were appointed to the Specialized Transit Service Management Board to maintain operations while the collective planning and implementation of the Tri-Municipal Regional Transit Plan occurs:

  • General Manager of Community and Protective Services
  • Director of FCSS and Social Planning
  • Transit Specialist
Crime Prevention Presentation Opportunities

City Administration presented a report on community crime prevention opportunities to Council.

Local Authorities Election Act Feedback

Council directed City Administration to prepare a response to the Local Authorities Election Act Discussion Guide, as circulated by the Province of Alberta. The City’s feedback will be provided to Municipal Affairs and the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association.
