Spruce Grove FCSS is proud to partner with the Canada Revenue Agency to offer the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). The program is open March 1 to April 28, 2023. Our CVITP volunteers help eligible, low-income individuals and families file online tax returns at no cost. This program is available to Spruce Grove and Parkland County residents. Stony Plain residents should register for the Town of Stony Plain CVITP program.
Eligibility
The CVITP is available to any eligible taxpayer with a simple tax situation. This may include:
- low income individuals including social assistance or AISH recipients
- newcomers to Canada
- seniors, students, and persons with disabilities
Volunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as:
- returns for deceased persons
- individuals who file for bankruptcy
- self-employed individuals
- individuals who report capital gains or losses
- individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and expenses
Please note: This community service is only available to Spruce Grove or Parkland County residents. Walk-in appointments are not available; tax returns are completed online by volunteers.
