Pick-Up Sports

The City of Spruce Grove Recreation Services organizes pick-up sport programs throughout the year. Pick-up Sports programs are offered to adults and youth over 16 years of age, please check individual sports for age requirements. Pick-up sport programs are free of charge. Program updates or cancellations will be provided on this webpage. If you have any inquiries contact Recreation Services at 780-962-7579 or email.


The City requires registration for the pick-up sports programs before participating. Registration can be completed through the City's online registration system. Note: For Pick-up Volleyball and Pick-up Pickleball participants must register in the overarching program, as well as the monthly programs prior to participating. The monthly programs will open seven days prior to the start of the month.

Public Skating

Indoor public skating takes place Monday through Friday from 11:45am to 12:45pm at the Spruce Grove Agrena.

First date: November 1, 2021
Last date: March 31, 2022
Excluding: December 24th through January 2nd 

This free program is taking place in a facility that has implemented the Restrictions Exeption Program. Therefore people ages 18 and over coming to participate in the program will be required to provide one of the following:

  • proof of vaccination, or
  • proof of a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours of service, or
  • documentation of a medical exemption

Individuals 18 years and older must ALSO produce valid personal identification.

Helmets are mandatory for everyone taking part in Public Skating.
