U-Pass Fact Sheet

UPass accepted on Spruce Grove Transit

Starting on January 1, 2017 the Universal Transit Pass (UPass) which students pay into through their tuition, will be accepted by Spruce Grove Transit and are fully transferable to all other transit systems in the Capital Region. Participating UPass educational institutions include:

  • University of Alberta,
  • MacEwan University,
  • the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and
  • NorQuest College.

U-Pass stickers are available from participating institutions in August for Fall session (September - December), early December for Winter term (January - April) and in April for Summer term (May - August), where applicable.

U-Pass stickers are issued by the institution for each term and are placed on student photo identification cards issued by the post-secondary institution

The current U-Pass sticker on the student card is the U-Pass. It must be displayed upon boarding to bus operators and must be with the student at all times on the LRT.

UPass and other Municipalities - a Capital Region network

In addition to connecting into the Edmonton Transit System students can utilize their UPass to any of the other Capital Region Communities of Leduc, Strathcona County, Ft. Saskatchewan and St. Albert. The City of Spruce Grove is delighted to partner with our Capital Region Municipalities to make this a truly regional system.

It should be noted that at some times on route 560 riders may experience high volumes. We will be monitoring this, but if at all possible, consider taking an earlier or later bus so that all trips are fully utilized.
