Blue Bag Recycling

Blue bags of household recyclables are collected every two weeks on your regular collection day. There is no limit on the number of blue bags you can put out.

  • All containers and deposit items must be rinsed and the lids and caps discarded.
  • Shredded paper must be bagged separately from other recyclables. Bagging shredded paper with other recyclables creates an additional step in the recycling process, decreasing efficiency.
  • Do not put shredded paper in Organicarts as this creates a litter problem at the Eco Centre.

Blue Bag recycling complements our Organics and Household Hazardous Waste programs. Residents without curbside pickup can take recyclables to the Eco Centre along with electronics and white goods. Since its start in 2007, more than 3,600 tonnes of recyclables were diverted from the landfill.
