Garbage

Items that cannot be recycled or composted through the Blue Bag and Organics programs or at the Spruce Grove Eco Centre are considered garbage. There is no limit on the number of blue bags you can put out, but a garbage limit has been in place since April 2007. Each household is limited to what their 240L black cart can hold with the lid fully closed. If you have a solid waste utility account with the City and do not have a black cart call Public Works at 780-962-7584.

Household hazardous waste and electronics should be taken to the Spruce Grove Eco Centre for processing.

Extra garbage

Extra garbage will not be collected at curbside. Extra bags may be brought to the Eco Centre at a charge of $1 / bag. Each bag may not weigh more than 15kg (33lbs) or be larger than 30” x 24”.

Large items such as furniture and old appliances should also be taken to the Eco Centre. Varying fees apply, depending on the item. A large-item pick-up is offered yearly, in the spring.
