The Eco Centre is located at 50 Diamond Avenue External

  • Sunday and Monday: Closed.
  • The Eco Centre is closed on statutory holidays.

Accepted items

 No charge
Blue bag recyclables Mixed paper, newspaper, boxboard, plastic containers #1-7, clear glass jars, deposit items
Corrugated cardboard (flattened) No larger than 2 feet x 2 feet
Electronics Computer monitors and processors, cell phones, televisions, VCRs and DVD players, printers, laptops, stereos, microwaves
Household hazardous waste (e.g. paint, chemicals) Get the complete list
Scrap metal, barbecues, bicycles
Organic waste (up to 3 cubic metres, loads exceeding this amount not accepted) Place food and yard waste in compostable bags (look for brands like Bag to Earth, Bio Bag and Bio Sak).
Passenger tires - 39” diameter or less with rims removed (tires exceeding this size not accepted)
White goods (not requiring CFC removal)
Refrigerators, stoves, freezers, washers, dryers, air conditioners. See disposal fees chart for white goods requiring CFC removal.
Note: RV refrigerators are not accepted.

 Disposal fees - Effective January 1, 2017

$2.75 per bag, up to four bags (excess of four bags will be charged as per cubic metre fee)

$5 per small item $10 per chair

$12 per love seat

$17 per sofa (one piece) or sofa bed

$21 per box spring/mattress set

$17 per 1 cubic metre (1/2 level truck box)

$34 per 2 cubic metres (level truck box)

$51 per 3 cubic metres (heaping truck box)

Propane tanks

$1.75 per tank, under 20 lbs.

$3.50 per tank, 20 lbs. or over

White goods (requiring CFC removal) Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and water coolers Note: RV refrigerators are not accepted. $16 per appliance

Wood or construction material (e.g. drywall, shingles) NOTE: Railway Ties treated with creosote are not accepted. $30 per cubic metre
