Community Group Opportunities

The Border Paving Athletic Centre offers many amenities to the community. A Recreation Information Centre (Rec Hub) will provide an environment for sports, recreation and not-for-profit organizations to access resource information to help with the operation and sustainability of their organization.  Meeting and Multipurpose rooms are available to rent for programming, meetings, clinics, and workshops. Organizations interested in leasing options will have Administrative and storage space among other amenities available to them. Included in the facility will also be City of Spruce Grove Recreation Services administrative space and space for the Spruce Grove Aerials Gymnastics Club.

Leasing options

A lease at the Border Paving Athletic Centre will consist of a term agreement with the City of Spruce Grove, Recreation Services. Leases will be designed to assist the variety of needs of the specific community group (sport, recreation and leisure). These needs may include administrative and storage space,  meeting room bookings, scheduled use in the Community Showcase, development and education opportunities and use of the Recreation Information Centre (Rec Hub) and use of other city rental spaces. Group Administrative and Storage space

  • Located on the second floor
  • Leasable office suites of varying sizes and configurations
  • Medium term lease lengths (3 to 5 years)
  • Available as a package including office space, meeting room rentals, and training and development
  • Office storage (records)
  • Access to technology and audio visual equipment

Meeting/Multi-purpose Rooms

Three multi-purpose rooms (Jen-Col, Zender Ford and Lodgepole Pine) and two meeting rooms (Wild Rose and Great Horned Owl)  are operated by the City of Spruce Grove, within the facility. The rooms are suitable for meetings, community group programming, workshops, fitness/dry land training, yoga, dance, combative sports, youth and family activities and programs.

The rooms will be available for hourly, daily or weekend rentals. Rental rates will be established using current city policy and procedures, approved by Council and will be comparable to other similar rental spaces. Jen-Col and Zender Ford Rooms

  • Located on the main floor
  • Each room is 22 ft. x 32 ft. (704 sq. ft.)
  • Rooms can be combined to a larger space measuring 44 ft. x 32 ft. (1408 sq. ft.)
  • 13 ft. ceiling height
  • Resilient sports flooring
  • Both rooms have easy access to Fuhr Sports Park

Lodgepole Pine Room

  • Located on the second floor
  • Room measures 25.5 ft. x 21 ft. (534 sq. ft.)
  • Wood panel floor
  • 10 ft. ceiling height

Wild Rose Room

  • Located on the second floor
  • Room measures 12.5 ft x 12.5 ft. (158 sq. ft.)
  • 10 foot ceilings
  • Carpeted floor
  • Suitable for smaller meetings, training sessions

Great Horned Owl Room

  • Located on the second floor
  • Room measures 21 ft. x 16.5 ft. (347 sq. ft.)
  • Access to technology and audio visual equipment
  • Suitable for meetings, training sessions

Recreation Information Centre (Rec Hub) and Recreation Services Offices

  • Located on the second floor
  • Operated by Recreation Services staff
  • Expanded services, including evenings and weekends
  • Access to community groups resources and training
  • Information on organizational development and sustainable practices
  • Equipped with technology including access to computers, printers, booking software, etc.
  • Staff available to assist
  • Available for drop in use
