Horizon Stage Theatre Advisory Board

Total Citizen Memberships: 7 City of Spruce Grove residents, 4 Parkland County residents
Total Council Memberships: 1 Alderman and 1 Alternate Alderman

The Horizon Stage Theatre Advisory Board guides the operation of the Horizon Stage Performing Arts Centre. The board provides advice and consultation to the City Spruce Grove and Parkland County councils on the development of public policy and priorities related to Horizon Stage.

Members are appointed for a 3 year term based on applications received by both councils. Meetings are held every 2 months with the exception of the summer months.

Spruce Grove Public Library Management Board

Total Citizen Memberships: 8 City of Spruce Grove Residents
Total Council Memberships: 2 Aldermen

The Spruce Grove Public Library Board is a governing board under the provisions of the Alberta Libraries Act and works with library staff to program, operate and maintain library services for area residents. The board is responsible for enacting bylaws and policies, preparing budgets and hiring staff.

Members are appointed for a 3 year term and may serve up to three terms. Meetings are held monthly with the exception of July, August or December.

The library is located at the Melcor Cultural Centre, 35 Fifth Avenue, Spruce Grove.

Spruce Grove Specialized Transit Service Management Board

Total Citizen Memberships: 15
Total Council Memberships: 1 Alderman and 1 Alternate Alderman 

The Specialized Transit Service (STS) is operated by a management board approved by City Council. The role of the STS board is to undertake, establish, operate and carry on a transportation service for disabled persons and persons suffering from physical and mental conditions due to old age within the municipal boundaries of the City of Spruce Grove and identified portions of Parkland County.

Members are appointed by Council to either a 2 or 3 year term and meetings are held bi-monthly.
