KidSport Alberta.What is KidSport?

KidSport is a national not for profit organization whose mandate is to remove financial barriers that prevent some young people from participating in sports.

KidSport Parkland External is the local chapter that raises funds through donations to assist children and youth 18 years and under in financial need by providing registration fee support for organized sport programs. KidSport Parkland serves residents of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County.

How much is the KidSport Parkland grant and what does it cover?

A KidSport Parkland grant is up to $500 per child, per calendar year (January to December). It can be used for registration fees for sustained sports programs (over a season) with qualified instructors.

Who is eligible to receive a KidSport Parkland grant?

Children/youth from families on low income, unemployed, on AISH, currently receiving income support and/or working hard to make ends meet are all considered eligible. KidSport Parkland considers social and economic barriers facing the child's family when determining eligibility.

KidSport Parkland funding guideline income cut-off level has increased: family with one (Plus) children $45,000 Gross household income (up from $40,000) and family with Five (plus) children $60,000 Gross household income (up from $50,000).
