Leaders in Training Volunteer Program


Summer in the City would not be possible without the help of our Leaders in Training volunteers! A great way to meet friends and challenge your leadership skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere. As a volunteer you will be partnered with our summer leaders to run various Summer in the City programs.

How to apply

Fill out and submit the application form PDF to the FCSS office in one of the following ways:

Please note: All volunteers will be required to obtain a criminal record check and child welfare check. FCSS has letters to allow volunteers to get their criminal record check at no cost.

Who?

  • Youth aged 13 and up
  • Anyone interested in volunteering and gaining new leadership skills!

When?

Volunteer placements are available between July 8 and Aug. 22, 2013. Hours range from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. You must complete 35 hours of volunteering to receive a certificate of completion.

Where?

Choose from the following programs:

  • Adventure Camps (Ages 5-12)
    Themed week-long camps, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Spruce Grove Curling Rink
  • Travelling Playground (Ages 5+)
    Themed drop-in program, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following parks:
    • Millgrove School
    • St. Marguerites School
    • Woodhaven School
    • Parkland Village
