Log Cabin Youth Mentorship

Youth are invited to drop in for one of our regular programmed activities, or just come hang out with friends! We have air hockey, pool, Ping-Pong, multiple crafts, musical instruments and X-box games!

Summer hours (beginning July 4th):

Tuesday - Friday: 2 - 8 pm
Saturday: 1 - 8 pm
Sunday & Monday: Closed

School year hours:

Tuesday-Friday: 4 - 8 pm.
Saturday: 1 - 8 p.m.
Sunday & Monday: Closed

This program also invites youth to work in the Lions Log Cabin concession alongside an adult mentor. Resumes are accepted year-round.

TUESDAY: Tye Dye

Stop by the Log Cabin to create some old school tie-dye masterpieces. You choose the colour, style and swirls to brighten up your wardrobe!

WEDNESDAY: Game of S.K.A.T.E / DIY Night

Come on down to Spruce Grove Skate Part and join the Lions Log Cabin staff for a weekly game of S.K.A.T.E or try out one of our DIY crafts for all ages. Bead and jewelry making. Soap making, and different activities planned by youth and mentorship staff.

THURSDAY: Movie Night

Stop by the cabin and enjoy a movie on our comfy couches. Relax and watch new releases or old flicks with friends! Free popcorn and juice for youth viewing the show!

FRIDAY: Jam Night

Bring your own instruments and jam or use a variety of instruments we have in the cabin to create your own tunes and rhythms! Whether you're a solo artist or group, beginner or advanced, you'll enjoy creating your own music. Come share and develop your musical talents!

SATURDAY: Skateboard Education and Craft Corner

Join us to study and discuss the different types of skateboarding! By analyzing movies, documentaries, and photographs, you’ll learn more about different skaters’ styles and tricks, and have the opportunity to share opinions about your favourites. Or, you can chill in the cabin and let your creativity run wild, using our many drawing, painting and crafts supplies!

Youth summer events

The Fear Factory

Stop by the Lions Log Cabin and participate in the first annual Fear Factory. We'll have challenges that will keep you on your toes and gross you out! Whoever acquires the most points over the three separate challenges will take home a glorious prize and be named the fearless champion.

Saturday, July 22nd @ 3 p.m. - Free

Spruce Grove Skate Park Competition/Wake-a-Thon

Register and compete as a skateboarder or a biker in beginner and advanced categories! There will be FREE burgers and hot dogs with registration, along with prizes for the best trick.

After the competition, you have the option to participate in the Wake-a-thon adventure. This is where you skateboard or bike overnight at the Spruce Grove Skate Park! Save the date. More information will be made available closer to the event.

Wake-a-thon will begin immediately after the prizes are distributed.

Movie Night in Central Park

Come and join us for a special outdoor movie night in Central Park under the stars. All you need to bring is your own lawn chair or blanket for the ground! Popcorn, extra snacks and beverages will be available for a small cost.

Please note: this event may be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.
