Make recycling a habit! Opportunities abound to recycle everything from beverage containers and newspapers to tires and plastic bags. It’s easy to do and makes an impact. After the blue-bag program was introduced in Spruce Grove in 2007, the amount of waste sent to landfill was reduced by 10%.

  • The City of Spruce Grove offers curbside year-round recycling services for most households.
  • Items that can be recycled through the blue-bag program include plastics 1-7, deposit items (e.g. bottles and cans), clear glass, cardboard, paper, and tins cans. Shredded paper can be recycled but needs to be bagged separately.
  • Residents in apartment and condos can drop off recyclables at the Eco Centre.
  • A wide variety of additional items can be recycled at the Eco Centre. These include electronics, household hazardous wastes, paint, tires, and scrap metal.
  • The City also offers concrete and asphalt recycling services to contractors and residents.
  • Cell phones can be recycled at a number of locations External
