There are many opportunities for Spruce Grove’s citizens to take an active role in shaping their city.

Citizen advisory boards make recommendations to city council in several areas, including culture and recreation. Other boards are tasked with managing services like the public library and specialized transit. The City also appoints certain quasi-judicial boards as required by the Municipal Government Act.

Task Forces are formed as needed to facilitate public consultation in addressing specific community issues.

Internal boards

Spruce Grove City Council establishes these quasi-judicial boards and committees, to which they appoint members of the public and aldermen.

These boards operate at arm’s-length from the City of Spruce Grove, but are made up of a combination of public members and aldermen.
