Process

Your Bright Future was developed through a multi-year process which included extensive consultation, community visioning, best practices research, and an existing policy review.

Important milestones included:

• Update of the Parks and Open Space Master Plan. Green spaces form the backbone of Spruce Grove’s urban environment.
• Major consultation focused on community visioning and values (SpruceGroveQuest)
• Development of an interim sustainability plan (incorporated into the MDP)
• Workshops,  open houses, public hearings, and a web survey to collect input
• Development of a detailed implementation plan

The majority of public consultations were conducted by an independent consultant to foster discussion, provide a range of approaches, and ensure objectivity. Over 800 responses were received through the process. Detailed results are found in Appendix D: Major Public Consultation Results
