Recreation and Parks Planning

Recreation and Parks Planning encourages healthy, active lifestyles by promoting and facilitating recreational activities, events and programs by working together with sports and community groups and the public.

We also handle bookings for City facilities, including the Agrena, Elks Hall, Fuhr Sports Park, joint-use school facilities, sports fields and ball diamonds.

In the area of Parks Planning, staff work with the community during the land development process to develop parks and open spaces to meet future needs. Staff are guided by The City of Spruce Grove’s Open Space Area Bylaw which regulates and controls open space areas within the city.

The City’s Parks and Open Space Master Plan guides new development of open space and ensures that open space needs are considered in the development process.
