Cultural Services


The City of Spruce Grove’s Cultural Services Division plays a leadership role in fostering and supporting cultural expression for the benefit of the entire community. Cultural Services also provides operational support to the Spruce Grove Public Library External.

Performing arts

The Horizon Stage Performing Arts Centre External, our intimate, 318-seat theatre, hosts a varied season of professional productions, including live theatre, concerts, and dance. It is funded in partnership with Parkland County and located at Spruce Grove Composite High School, 1001 Calahoo Road, Spruce Grove.

Tickets for shows may be purchased through the City Hall Ticket Centre External at City Hall (315 Jespersen Avenue). Also serving as the only Ticketmaster outlet in the region City Hall Ticket Centre is a one-stop location for event tickets.

Horizon Stage is available for rent External for community events -- recitals, lectures, meetings and concerts.

Cultural Services and Horizon Stage operations are supported by a Theatre Advisory Board.

Visual arts

Cultural Services supports the visual arts in our community by working closely with the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove External, a not-for-profit organization.

Dedicated to promoting and supporting the visual arts, the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove sponsors art classes, exhibitions, and an annual Open Art Competition. The Council also operates the Spruce Grove Art Gallery and Gift Store in the Melcor Cultural Centre at 35 Fifth Avenue, Spruce Grove.

Cultural Services also sponsors and participates in the Spruce Grove Canada Day Celebration and special events including Christmas in Central Park and Remembrance Day.
