Transportation Options

While the most common form of transportation continues to be personal vehicles, the City is looking to increase options for people. Reducing personal vehicle trips improves air quality and decreases greenhouse gas emissions.

Transit

Public transit provides service for commuters to Edmonton and limited local service within Spruce Grove. Specialized Transit Service provides service for seniors (55+) and people with mobility challenges.

Biking and walking

Looking to improve your health and reduce pollution? Consider walking or biking as a form of transportation. The City has over 120 km of sidewalks and another 45 km of trails. View a map of the Heritage Grove Trail System PDF

Community design

The City’s Municipal Development Plan includes a number of strategies during development to make it easier and more enjoyable for people to bike and walk in the community. Pedestrian-friendly design and more connectivity in the street and walkway systems are important components.
