Local and Composite Assessment Review Boards

The City of Spruce Grove is required by the Municipal Government Act to establish quasi-judicial boards to hear complaints about property tax assessments.

Residential complaints with 3 or fewer dwelling units, and farmland are heard by the Local Assessment Review Board which is composed of two members of the public and one alderman.

Commercial, industrial, multi-family and residential assessment complaints with 4 or more dwelling units are heard by the Composite Assessment Review Board, which includes a provincially appointed member, one member of the public and one alderman.
