Sponsorship

There are numerous opportunities in our communities for sponsorship and donations. However, remember to make sponsorship a reciprocating relationship. If you are going to visit local businesses and ask for funding, are you supporting those businesses?

In the same way that a healthy non-profit recognizes its volunteers, sponsors deserve recognition as well.
Track your sponsors, recognize them, ensure you are not asking more than annually, have a plan so different volunteers from the same organization do not request sponsorship for the same event, and be sure to follow up.
Alberta Culture provides an excellent handbook on building corporate relationships, and it is listed first in the recommended websites below.
