Alberta Culture and Tourism offer two main grants to non-profits – Community Facility Enhancement Program commonly known as CFEP, and the Community Initiatives Program, referred to as CIP.

CFEP allows a maximum of $125,000 per application per fiscal year, and can be requested for a capital project or equipment, a planning study, a combination of a capital project and a planning study or a special need, such as disaster funding.

CIP allows a maximum of $75,000 if applying for a project based or operating grant, but only a maximum of $25,000 when applying for an international development grant.  Applications can be for various items including projects, new initiatives, capital funding, planning studies, special funding, and core operating costs, or programming costs.  They can include staff and rent.
