City launches new economic development website

The City of Spruce Grove has launched a comprehensive new website that will help both potential and existing businesses develop and grow in the community.

The new Economic and Business Development website, which can be found at www.investsprucegrove.ca, features a range of business-related tools and research, and is an online one stop shop for businesses and investors looking for economic, demographic and development information on Spruce Grove.

“We wanted to provide the business community with a dedicated website to help them expand and prosper in our community,” said Economic and Business Development Manager Dave Walker. “Spruce Grove is open for business and this new website shows our focus and commitment to attracting new investment and helping our existing businesses reach their full potential.”

Features of the new Economic and Business Development website include:

Key studies, reports and maps, including the City’s Economic Development Strategy and Retail Trade Gap Analysis.
Access to a range of data bases, including traffic counts, building permit data and demographics.
Information on “How To” topics, such as how to start a business and where to obtain financing.
Business resources, including BizPal, The Business Link and Community Futures as well as a revamped business directory.
Information on commercial, industrial and residential development opportunities, including the first phase of a site locator function that, once complete, will allow people to search for all industrial and commercial properties for sale or lease in Spruce Grove.
Planning documents, such as the City’s Land Use Bylaw, Municipal Development Plan and Area Structure Plans.
Interactive components that allow people to ask questions or make other inquiries through the website.
