Making recycling a habit! Opportunities abound to recycle everything from beverage containers and newspapers to tires and plastic bags. It’s easy to do and makes an impact. After the blue bag program was introduced in Spruce Grove in 2007, the amount of waste sent to landfill was reduced by 10 per cent.

  • The City of Spruce Grove offers curbside year-round recycling services for most households.
  • Items that can be recycled through the blue bag program include plastics 1-7, deposit item (e.g. bottles and cans), clear glass, cardboard, paper and tins cans. Shredded paper can be recycled, but needs to be bagged separately.
  • Residents in apartment and condos can drop off recyclables at the Eco Centre.
  • A wide variety of additional items can be recycled at the Eco Centre. These include electronics, household hazardous wastes, paint, tires, and scrap metal.
  • The City also offers concrete and asphalt recycling services to contractors and residents.
