The City of Spruce Grove annual Sport Field Lifecycle Maintenance program has begun for 2011. This is a long term program designed to improve the quality and playability of our sport fields by addressing the specific needs of one identified site per year.  In 2010, work was completed to improve playing conditions at Aspenglen Soccer Pitch. 

This year we are directing our efforts towards the two mini fields at Lakewood Park. City staff will be amending the existing top growth layers of soil to improve soil composition and performance while also providing improved grading and a smoother playing surface.

The work is scheduled to take place from July through to the fall of this year. The fields will be ready for play no later than July 1, 2012.
