At the September 19th Committee of the Whole meeting, City Council presented Kayla Lutterodt and Alexandra Keizik, members of the Aerials Gymnastics, with Outstanding Achievement certificates for their medal wins at the Alberta Gymnastics Federation 2011 Provincials held in Lethbridge, Alberta on the weekend of April 15 - 17, 2011.

Spruce Grove Aerials Gymnastics Club is a non-profit parent-run organization that has been offering programs to enhance the physical development and fitness of children within the community since 1982.

The Club believes that the experience of gymnastics aids a child's growth of character, responsibility, determination, achievement and respect. Their mission statement is 'through the sport of gymnastics, we promote fitness, fun and confidence for the children in our communities'.

More than 500 athletes, coaches and judges met in Lethbridge to participate in the 2011 Artistic Gymnastics Provincial Championships on April 15 - 17. The event showcased the best athletes from across the province and is one of the premier gymnastics events of the 2011 season with several of the athletes in attendance building towards a Canadian Championship appearance. Kayla Lutterodt placed third on Vault - P2 Tyro, and Alexandra Kiezik placed first on Vault - P3 Tyro.

These two young athletes are to be congratulated for their dedication and hard work which has resulted in wins at the provincials.
